LessLate 1.3.0: Today and weekly routines

Weekly Leave by routines and a Today tab changed how people set up regular journeys and see what is happening.

What changed

Version 1.3.0 went live on 30 September 2026. The interface now has three tabs: Today, Set and Routines.

Today groups reminders that are in progress, scheduled or recorded earlier that day. Weekly Leave by routines ring on selected days, replacing the need to apply a saved template each time. The implementation also supports several routine journeys being tracked separately.

A change in direction

In 1.1, routines were templates. Automatic scheduling introduced new questions: what happens when journeys overlap, whether stopping today’s alarm preserves the next occurrence, and how the app explains what is active.

I added Today as a dedicated place to make that state visible.

Evidence and limits

A failed development test showed automatic departure confirmation was not happening after a walk. The project log records a location session issue, followed by accepted background tests on 22 September and a several journey test on 23 to 24 September.

Those tests relate to installed development builds and specific conditions. They are not a guarantee of behaviour across every environment.

What I am exploring next

I am examining first use guidance, meaningful feedback after a confirmed departure and pricing. The product’s impact on habits and continued use still needs evidence.

Follow-up as of 6 October 2026

One early tester raised questions about subscription value and a tangible reward for successful departures. I am using this as input for further testing. Demand, repeat use and retention still need to be established.
